La Resistencia Indigena 2022

  Danza Azteca Taxcayolotl and Tepeyolotl Chalchiuhtlicue would like to invite you to our annual community ceremony in honor of the resistance of the people of Mexico-Tenochtitlan, honoring our ancestral roots. The annual Aztec dance ceremony will take place on Saturday, August 13, and will bring together over 50 dancers from around Texas. They will be dressed in colorful regalia, wearing headdresses with beautiful long feathers, and will utilize natural instruments to compose traditional rhythms for ceremonial dancing in the historic Second Ward of Houston. Through dance steps and drum beats, the dancers will be honoring generations of indigenous traditions. ++++ Note to all danzantes: We will be following covid19 health regulations. You are welcome to wear a mask and bring hand sanitizer. Don't forget to wash your hands regularly and not share armas.
